January Month In Review

January was another successful and productive month for our construction team. Construction Documents have reached 98% complete and have been submitted to the City of Yakima for review. Both sites are fully prepped and will see little action until we have moved through the permitting process. Land use applications for both projects have been approved.

The D-7 form has been prepared and bid packages are being developed in anticipation of receiving the D-8 form. The D-8 form will allow us to officially open bids for the projects. D-forms are the primary documents that form the basis of any agreements between OSPI and the school districts receiving state assistance through the School Construction Assistance Program (SCAP). D-Forms are a series of applications that must be approved as we move through the different phases of the construction process in order to qualify for state funding.

Our Design team has worked closely with District staff to select exterior and interior finishes and materials. The final selections were presented to the building staff at an open house. There was also an opportunity for questions and answers with our Project Manager, Rob Gross and Architect, Matt Whitish. Teachers had questions about the layout of their classrooms and some of the amenities. Overall, the feedback was very positive. The material display boards are displayed at the Freshman Campus.
